Cleats Shoes
question about useing cleats & shoes for first time...?
could anyone please sell me in simple terms haw 2 use the damm things ! got shimano spd sl cleats & shoes, not put them on the bike yet but set them up & the shoes are now stuck tight in..tried twisting the bac out as per instructions but they seem so tight in... are they a pain in the a@@ 2 use or is it just me..
They do take a bit of getting used to, but are worth the effort.
They are not as difficult to use live as the way you have them.
Try sitting on the bike and put ONE foot in. Now turn the heel out and the shoe should pop out. If it doesn't release relatively easily force it out and back off the tension screw a bit. Now get used to releasing your normal "down" foot (whichever you normally put down on the ground when standing over the bike). Finally ride but remember to release the foot BEFORE you come to a full stop (since most cyclists new to clipless pedals forget and fall over at one point or another!)
