Tracy McGrady - What was the hype about?
Maybe I get a skewed sampling of basketball fans living in Houston. However, almost all the fans I talk McGrady considers to be an elite player. I do not see it. Even if true that he led the league in points (?) in Orlando, what exactly it does with large amounts of talent in Houston? You could put dozens of players in the situation he was in Orlando and they point average equal to or more than him. Since his arrival in Houston, he "leads" his team to a first round defeat in 0500 or a record. I wonder what Kobe would do if he had a dominant center next to him ... Oops! We already seen what happened with this scenario.
You can not compare Shaq to Yao. If Shaq T-Mac does all the work in the playoffs, it was probably 3 championship rings, too. Yao does not even have a fraction of domination that Shaq was at the time. He chokes in big games while the diesel supply. Shaq has taken 3 different teams (Orlando, the Lakers, Miami) to the NBA Finals and won championships with two teams. It is a reason why Shaq is one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history.
