does a parachute offer us a constant retardation or a terminal velocity while falling ?
if it is like constant retardation to our free fall , suppose the velocity attains its zero value somewhere in the mid air for an inexperienced person using the parachute , is he likely to rise up nd get blown off by da parachute?
It initially provides retardation. As the speed decreases the resistance force (which is a function of speed) decreases until resistance force again balances weight and you then fall with constant speed.
